Paris, top city for meetings: ICCA

According to the ICCA’s Country and City Rankings report, Paris has returned as the top city for meetings, The latest report, which covers 2018, sees Paris return to its number one position, which it had not held since 2016. Overall, the ICCA says that it captured a total of 12,937 rotating association meetings in 2018, up 379 from the previous year and the highest annual figure the organisation has ever recorded. Paris claimed the top spot with 212 meetings held in 2018, 40 more meetings than second place finisher Vienna. The full list of the top 20 cities is: Paris – 212 Vienna – 172 Madrid – 165 Barcelona – 163 Berlin – 162 Lisbon – 152 London – 150 Singapore – 145 Prague – 136 Bangkok – 135 Buenos Aires – 133 Hong Kong – 129 (tie) Amsterdam – 123 (tie) Tokyo – 123 Seoul – 122 Copenhagen – 120 Brussels – 112 Dublin – 104 Stockholm – 103 (tie) Budapest – 100 (tie) Taipei – 100 Remaining in the top 10 but changing position are London, Prague, Singapore and Lisbon. London, Singapore and Prague dropped to seventh, eighth and ninth place respectively, and Lisbon climbed three positions to sixth place. Bangkok rose seven places from 17th to 10th, knocking Seoul out of the top 10. Seoul fell to 15th place, surpassed by top 20 risers and joint position holders Amsterdam and Tokyo, which jumped from 16th to 13th place and 18th to 13th place, respectively. Turkish Airlines has implemented two new projects enabling business class passengers to choose their meals before the flight via “Meal selection before flight” service. With this service, applicable to the several intercontinental destinations departing from Istanbul, business-class passengers can view the meal details and visuals of the main dishes and make their choices on the web page or mobile application. They can make their choices within the period starting from 1 week before their flight date until the last 48 hours. Turkish Airlines passengers who fly from Istanbul to Atlanta, Bangkok, Beijing, Bogotá, Boston, Cape Town, Chicago, Guangzhou, Hanoi, Havana, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Houston, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, Los Angeles, Manila,  Miami, Montreal, New York, Phuket, Port Louis, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo, Toronto, Washington DC, Caracas, Panama City, Madagascar, Durban, Maputo, and Buenos Aires can take advantage of this service. Besides, the airlines’ ‘Dine on demand service’ will be available in all intercontinental night flights departing from and landing on Istanbul.
