Jazeera Airways adds Mumbai to its growing India network

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost airline, operating regionally and internationally, has announced its latest and largest addition to the growing network of Indian routes. Forging ahead with the fourth destination in India after Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Kochi recently, Jazeera Airways will now fly to Mumbai starting May 9. Responding to the travel demands of its customers, the award winning carrier will now provide strong connectivity through Kuwait on to fourteen destinations across the Middle East. Rohit Ramachandran, CEO of Jazeera Airways, said, “We are delighted to start our flights to the largest city in India. Our network in India is developing well and is continuing to support the travel needs of over 920,000 Indians from Kuwait, as well as offering Indian citizens connectivity across the Middle East. flydubai launches direct flights from Dubai to Dubrovnik

flydubai will now operate Dubrovnik as a seasonal summer route, offering four flights a week between April 10 and October 25, 2018. Emirates will codeshare on this route as part of the Emirates-flydubai partnership announced in July 2017. Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations (UAE, Middle East, Europe & CIS) at flydubai, says, “flydubai is the first airline to offer passengers convenient, direct flights from Dubai to Dubrovnik. Our new service reflects flydubai’s commitment to open up 71 previously underserved markets on our network of more than 90 destinations. We offer affordable travel options in both Business and Economy classes together with an enjoyable experience on board our young fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.” flydubai’s first flight touched down in Dubrovnik with a delegation of representatives from the airline on board. The delegation was met by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Tonči Glavina; the Managing Director of Dubrovnik Airport, Frano Luetić; the airline’s representative in Croatia, Predrag Popovic and the Country Manager, Austria and Croatia for Emirates, Martin Gross. flydubai launches Dubai-Kraków direct

flydubai has launched its daily service to Kraków, becoming the first UAE carrier to offer direct flights from Dubai. The inaugural flight from Terminal 2, Dubai International, landed at John Paul II Kraków Airport on April 8, and was greeted by a water cannon salute. The flight was piloted by a Polish Captain and First Officer, and on board were Polish cabin crew members. The delegation was led by Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations (UAE, Middle East, Europe & CIS), flydubai. HE Robert Rostek, the Polish Ambassador to the UAE and Thierry Aucoc, Senior Vice President, Commercial (Europe & Russian Federation) at Emirates, joined the delegation. On arrival in Kraków, the delegation was greeted by the UAE Ambassador to Poland, HE Dr. Yousif Eissa AlSabri; Radosław Włoszek, President of the Kraków Airport Board and Paweł Galiak, Aviation and Commercial Services Director at Kraków Airport. Speaking at the occasion, Efendi said, “As the first carrier to operate daily direct flights from Dubai to Kraków we are excited about the opportunities that this new route will provide for trade and tourism between the UAE and Poland. This route will be served by the newest aircraft in our fleet, the Boeing 737 MAX 8, which offers our passengers an exceptional travel experience. Delta rolls out RFID tags for Heathrow travellers

Delta’s focus on innovation has moved up a gear with the roll out of a new service which allows customers to keep track of their checked bags on its flights between London Heathrow to the United States via their mobile phones. Radio Frequency Identification bag tags are added to all checked luggage enabling customers to receive real-time updates on the whereabouts of their luggage from check-in to the arrival carousel. The tags are read by RFID antennas at various points along the journey and customers receive push notifications via their phones on the Fly Delta app, setting new standards for what customers can expect when they travel with Delta. “Carrying more than 1.3 million bags between London Heathrow and the United States each year, our new service gives customers peace of mind because they know we’re looking after their bags every step of the way,” said Corneel Koster, Delta Senior Vice President, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India. “Following a successful roll-out in the US, we are on track to equip all of our international stations, including Heathrow, with this technology as part of our continued efforts to improve our customer experience.” Initial results of RFID-tagged items show they are tracked at a 99.9 percent success rate, ensuring proper routing and loading. Delta, Virgin Atlantic join hands with Jet Airways on codeshare expansion

Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic announced expanded cooperation with Jet Airways to provide convenient codeshare connections for customers between key destinations across North America and India via London Heathrow. From November 2, Jet Airways customers flying between India and North America will be able to connect through London Heathrow on to nine U.S. destinations operated by Delta, in turn, Delta and Virgin Atlantic customers flying between North America and India  will be able to connect with Delta codeshare onto Jet Airways’ flights to Mumbai and Delhi via London Heathrow and onward to 20 destinations within India. “With up to 11,000 people flying daily between India and North America, and with trade and tourism flows increasing between the U.S., U.K. and India, we are giving our customers more versatile schedule options between North America and India,” said Nat Pieper, Delta’s Senior Vice President-Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.
