Japan Airlines & American Airlines to co-host luncheon and one-on-one meetings at CTW Asia Pacific 2018

Japan Airlines (JAL) and American Airlines (AA) shall epitomise their joint partnership at the CTW Asia-Pacific 2018, to be held from September 18-20, at the Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld,  leveraging on one-to-one meetings and a hosted luncheon for over 100 buyers. Since their joint business partnership in 2011, the two airlines have been sharing best practices and cross-cultural insights to enhance their services and flight options currently serving the connections between Asia and North America. Japan Airlines, who is helming the sponsorship at CTW Asia-Pacific 2018, shared their vision for co-hosting an exclusive luncheon and table top showcase. Said Shirley Yuen, Regional Director of Japan Airlines, “We believe this allows us to demonstrate both airlines’ strong partnership and strengthen our relationship with corporate travel buyers together. As the leading corporate travel management conference for the region, CTW gives us privileged access to travel managers, heightens our exposure, and helps us discover challenges and pain-points faced by CTMs through learning at the education sessions.” American Airlines affirmed the decision, citing the benefits of exclusive facetime with corporate travel managers and the opportunity to meet buyers of choice during business appointments, said Stacey Yocum, Manager, Regional Corporate & TMC Sales, Asia Pacific, American Airlines. JAL is expected to launch Joint Business with Hawaiian Airlines (HA) in 2019 to facilitate enhanced access to 34 destinations throughout Japan and 11 points in Asia beyond Japan. JAL has also signed a memorandum with China Eastern Airlines to pursue a joint business agreement that will link over 80 of China’s domestic cities with JAL’s network. TCEB promotes ‘Exhibiz in Market’ campaign in India

Thailand Convention and Exhibitions Bureau (TCEB) conducted its TCEB Business Forum in Delhi at The Park Hotel on February 8, 2018. The forum aimed at strengthening exhibition ties with India. In his welcome address, Tharadol Thongruang, Minister Counselor (Commercial), Royal Thai Embassy – New Delhi, stated that they were eager to promote ties as well as business with India. He also said that Thailand is the centre and gateway to ASEAN. The ‘Exhibiz in Market’ scheme is a funding initiative conceived to generate pavilions at international tradeshows in Thailand, offering financial assistance between $1500 and $ 5,780 for leaders of commercial pavilions between 36 sqm and 250 sqm in size. Together with this scheme and The Connect Business promotion, TCEB hopes to further assist and facilitate the demands of international trade show exhibitors and visitors looking to build their business in ASEAN. Chanida Chengpee, Manager, Exhibition Department, TCEB, said, “The Connect Business matchmaking promotion is TCEB’s innovative approach to generating a higher quality of visitors to Thailand, increasing the likelihood of presenting exhibitors with enriched lead potential. It offers a chance to earn $100 for each trade visitor (in a minimum group size of 10) connected with three exhibitors by federations, trade associations, chambers of commerce, non-profit organisations, and industrial publications from the ASEAN countries and BIMSTEC.” She added that global MICE to Thailand had grown by 18.79 per cent from 2016-2017 and revenue grew by 22.77 per cent, with the number of events increasing by 15.56 per cent.

Saudi Arabian Airlines increases frequency to Delhi

Saudia, or Saudi Arabian Airlines has increased its frequency from 12 to 14 flights a week to Delhi with a new aircraft to serve the Indian skies. “Now we are flying with the new A-330, our new regional aircraft, which is very good with flatbeds on its business class,” said Ibrahim Mohammed Alqubbi, Manager, Saudia—India. The airline has opened a new office in Delhi which would offer ticketing and back-end services. Alqubbi along with Dr. Saud Mohammed Alsati, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to India inaugurated the new facility of the airline. Further, Alqubbi informed, “The new office will give a new brand image of Saudi Arabia Airlines in India and offer more space as well as greater support to our customers in India. In India, we opened a new destination recently from October 1, 2017. We are planning to open more destinations in 2018 depending on the bilateral.”
