GoAir to connect 10 Indian cities to Phuket by 2019-end

GoAir will make Phuket as its Thailand hub and fly to the beach island from eight more Indian cities by the end of next year. The carrier currently flies to Phuket and Male in Maldives from Mumbai and New Delhi as part of its overseas route network. It had commenced its international operations on October 11 with flight services to Phuket from New Delhi.

GoAir to commence international operations from October

GoAir is all set to commence its international flight operations. It will offer India’s first-ever direct service to Phuket, Thailand effective October 11, 2018, from Delhi and Mumbai. This will be followed by its second international service connecting Mumbai and Delhi with Male, Maldives effective October 14, 2018. These destinations will also be connected from Bengaluru in the near future. GoAir marks its first foray into international skies after completing more than a decade of successful domestic operations. GoAir will continue to operate its A320 aircraft in all operations and on both these international routes. With the introduction of these flights, the airline will increase its operations by 28 flights to a total of 1680 flights per week. GoAir will operate three direct flight services per week between Mumbai – Phuket – Mumbai at a return fare starting from INR 18,999 (All inclusive); two direct flight services per week between Delhi – Phuket – Delhi at a return fare starting from INR 18,999 (All inclusive). Similarly, the airline will operate three direct flight services per week between Mumbai – Male – Mumbai at a return fare starting from INR 17,999 (All inclusive); 02 direct flight services per week between Delhi – Male – Delhi at a return fare starting from INR 18,999 (All inclusive). Emirates’ 3rd service to Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport for business travellers

Emirates will start a third daily service between Moscow’s Domodedovo (DME) Airport and Dubai, from October 25, 2018. Emirates has been serving the Russian market since 2003. Demand for travel has grown significantly over recent years, leading to the airline’s launch of third flight to Moscow. The new service will be operated by an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER in a three class cabin configuration, with eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie flat seats in Business Class and 310 spacious seats in Economy. This service will cater for leisure and business passengers, providing daily links for international tourism and trade opportunities both inbound and outbound. The flight EK174 will depart Domodedovo at 1040hrs and arrive in Dubai at 1655hrs, while the return flight EK173 will depart Dubai at 0330hrs and arrive in Moscow at 0750hrs. The new flight allows for seamless connectivity to Moscow from several popular destinations in Emirates’ and flydubai’s combined route network, including Bali, Bangkok, Colombo, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Maldives, Mauritius and Singapore. The new Emirates flight from Domodedovo airport is also timed to connect conveniently with a wide network of domestic flights operated by Emirates codeshare partner in Russia – S7 Airlines. Qatar Airways offers special fares to 20 ‘Easy Visa’ destinations

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Qatar Airways is offering Indian nationals special fares to 20 ‘Easy Visa’ destinations on both Economy and Business Class. The visa-friendly destinations offer Indian nationals a seamless and convenient process of securing their visas, either by applying online (e-visa), upon arrival or, in certain cases a visa-free arrival. Valid from 4th October to 25th December 2017, Qatar Airways’ ‘Easy Visa’ promotion will offer discounts of up to 40 per cent on Economy Class and 30 per cent on Business Class, as well as special companion fares on select destinations, offering flexibility for two passengers travelling together in business class to receive further discounts. Qatar Airways Senior Manager for Indian Subcontinent, Naveen Chawla, said, “The offer compliments our expansion strategy at Qatar Airways, which aims to provide travellers with a varied choice of destinations and to deliver an award-winning service on-board one of the youngest aircraft fleets with state-of-the-art-features.” This promotion follows a recent announcement last month by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI), Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Airways, allowing visa-free entry into Qatar for citizens of 80 countries, including India. Indian nationals wishing to visit Qatar will not require prior visa arrangements and can obtain a visa-waiver upon arrival. The waiver will be valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and entitle its holders to spend up to 30 days in Qatar during either a single trip, or on multiple trips. This waiver may be extended for a further 30 days. Thailand doubles VoA fee to 2,000 baht

Starting from September 27, 2016, Thailand, by the order of Ministry of Interior, will increase its VoA fee from 1,000 to 2,000 THB. Tourists from 19 countries including India, Andorra, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan are entitled to apply for VoA at 42 designated immigration checkpoints, which will allow tourists to stay in the country for up to 15 days.
