Indigo to connect Delhi to Jodhpur and Ahmedabad from Sept 5

Indigo shall introduce daily non-stop flights between Jodhpur and Delhi and Ahmedabad, the operations for which will commence from September 5, 2019. The airline will also introduce daily direct flights on the Delhi-Agartala and Delhi-Dibrugarh routes as well. Under the newly introduced flights, the airline will offer tickets starting from Rs 1,999. Jodhpur will be IndiGo’s 56th destination in India. The flights on the Delhi-Agartala and Delhi-Dibrugarh routes will commence operations from August 14, and the tickets for these will start from Rs 3,999 and Rs 4,499 respectively (one way). Reportedly, the airline is planning six new international flights from Delhi and Mumbai. The new flights would be on Delhi-Jeddah, Mumbai-Kuwait and Mumbai-Dubai routes, the airline said.

IndiGo adds 3 international flights from Mumbai to Jeddah, Dammam & Abu Dhabi

Effective June 05, IndiGo will fly daily non-stop from Mumbai to both Jeddah and Abu Dhabi. Effective July 05, the airline will connect Mumbai with Dammam through daily direct flights (Subject to regulatory approvals). Additionally, IndiGo is temporarily adding approximately 20 new departures each from Mumbai and Delhi in a phased manner from April 15, 2019. This is an effort to make it easier for customers to find affordable fares during the busy season. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “We are strengthening Mumbai as a key travel hub for domestic and international connectivity from India. We are pleased to announce Jeddah and Dammam as our 17th and 18th international destinations effective June 05, 2019 and July 05, 2019 respectively. Jeddah being the commercial capital and the gateway for Haj, Dammam being the growth centre in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi being a major cultural and commercial centre in UAE, are critical markets for strengthening our presence in the Middle-East. Mumbai is the commercial hub of India and we see great potential connecting the Middle-East with this city, further bolstering the extensive cultural, business and tourism links between India and the Middle East. Delhi Airport to start ‘express check-in’ for handbag-only passengers from April at T2

The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), New Delhi, is planning to roll out express check-in counter service for air passengers taking domestic flights from the airport. The service can only be availed by travellers with handbags as luggage. Reportedly, the Delhi airport will introduce this facility by April 2019 at Terminal 2, where low-cost airlines such as Indigo, SpiceJet and GoAir operate. The facility is expected to be extended to Terminals 1 and 3 in future.

IndiGo will soon fly to China, Vietnam, England, Myanmar and Saudi Arabia

Launching its flight on the Delhi-Istanbul sector, IndiGo has announced to use its expanding fleet of A320neo and A321neo aircraft to connect more Indian cities to China, Vietnam, England, Myanmar, and Saudi Arabia. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo, said, “We are looking very seriously into other points in Southeast Asia, notably the obvious ones of Vietnam and Myanmar. We also want to operate shortly to Saudi Arabia on the west side. We are seriously interested in getting in China as soon as we can. We are still selecting precise destinations.” The airline plans to add 125 A321neo aircraft in its fleet over a number of years. In 2019, it will receive 20-25 of these aircraft from Airbus, said the CCO. While the Delhi-Istanbul flight is being operated in an A321neo aircraft with 222 seats, Boulter clarified that the flights to China would be based on A320neos. The Delhi-Istanbul flight plans to connect 20 forward destinations using the codeshare pact that was signed between India’s largest airline and Turkish Airlines on December 21 last year. IndiGo to connect Kannur to Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru & Hubli from January 2019

IndiGo is all set to operate daily direct flights connecting Kannur to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Hubli and Chennai with effect from January 2019. The introduction of these flights will further strengthen the airline’s operations andwill provide connectivity between Kannur and other key cities with all-inclusive fares starting from Rs 1799. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo, said, “We are pleased to have the opportunity to fly out of the new airport in Kannur starting January 2019. Kannur will be the 67th destination on our growing network and starting operations will further strengthen the air connectivity from Northern Kerala. IndiGo will operate daily non-stop return flights from Kannur to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Hubli. These new services will benefit our customers with more flying options and will also boost tourism stemming from nearby regional destinations, including Kasaragod and Wayanad in Kerala, and Coorg in Karnataka.”

IndiGo announces 20 new flights from July

IndiGo has announced the launch of 20 new flights from July, which include introduction of the first direct flight from Kolkata to Chandigarh and Indore. A non-stop flight between Chandigarh and Srinagar, and a daily flight between Indore and Nagpur will also be introduced, the airline said in a statement. From July 1, IndiGo will operate a second daily flight between Bengaluru and Varanasi, Bengaluru and Chandigarh and a third daily flight between Ranchi and Bengaluru, and between Indore and Bengaluru. An additional flight will also be operated between Cochin and Tiruchirappalli, and between Tiruchirappalli and Bengaluru effective June 28. “IndiGo is reinforcing its commitment to on-time performance by announcing new frequencies from Chandigarh, Varanasi, Ranchi, Indore and Tiruchirappalli connecting Bengaluru. Kolkata-Chandigarh, Kolkata- Indore and Chandigarh- Srinagar have also emerged as sectors that have started attracting both leisure and business passengers in the recent past and hold immense potential for IndiGo,” the airline’s chief commercial officer Sanjay Kumar said. IndiGo adds two new flights on Tiruchirappalli-Chennai route

After the recent launch of Tiruchirappalli as its 51st destination – IndiGo, country’s largest and fastest growing low cost carrier is all set to add two more sectors connecting Tiruchirappalli. The airline will soon operate a direct flight between Tiruchirappalli and Bengaluru and Tiruchirappalli and Kochi.  IndiGo with its seventh ATR will operate four direct flights from Chennai to Tiruchirappalli from June 01.  Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer, Indigo, presented airline’s expansion plan during a travel agent meet held in Tiruchirappalli. An IndiGo organised partner meet was attended by city’s prestigious travel agents and corporates.  The new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options. The introduction of these flights will further strengthen airline’s ATR operations, and will provide enhanced connectivity between Chennai and Tiruchirappalli with all-inclusive fares starting from INR 2299. Elaborating on the new route expansion in south India, Kumar, said, “Just like Coimbatore, Madurai and Chennai – Tiruchirappalli is also a key market for IndiGo in Tamil Nadu. With rising business and tourism stemming from the southern hubs, IndiGo is determined to provide the best travel experience to all those who wish to fly to these destinations. IndiGo to connect Colombo from Chennai and Bengaluru from Jan 20

IndiGo has announced that Colombo will become its eighth international destination effective January 20, 2018 with daily direct flights from Chennai and Bengaluru. With these new flights, the airline will also offer connections to and from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and other major Indian cities. Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo, said, “It gives us immense pleasure to add Colombo to our growing network, which will not only help us cater to the growing tourist potential of the city, but also provide affordable travel options to the Indian workforce who can now look forward to visiting the city more frequently. IndiGo commences Rajahmundry operations

IndiGo has expanded its regional network by commencing ATR operations from Rajahmundry. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa along with Sanjeev Ramdas, Executive Vice President of Customer Service & Operations Control, IndiGo flagged-off the flight from Rajahmundry to Chennai at Rajahmundry Airport on January 9, 2018. Rajahmundry will be connected to Hyderabad with twice daily frequencies, and one direct daily frequency each on Rajahmundry–Bengaluru–Rajahmundry and Rajahmundry–Chennai–Rajahmundry sectors. IndiGo is the only airline that connects Rajahmundry with direct flights to three major metros of southern India: Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad from day one of its operations.

IndiGo to launch flights to Vijayawada from March 2018

IndiGo has announced Vijayawada as its 50th destination on its route network. Effective March 2, 2018, the airline will operate daily direct operations connecting Vijayawada to Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. The airline has also inducted a brand new Airbus A320 NEO aircraft into its existing fleet, taking the overall count to 150 aircraft. Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo, said, “In the coming years, we will continue to expand our network to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travellers.”
