Sabre unveils secure transaction tool for CTM Singapore

Sabre Corporation has launched Sabre Virtual Payments for Corporate Travel Management (CTM) Singapore, in partnership with virtual card technology provider Conferma. The tool is an innovative solution that offers peace of mind to help make secure, corporate travel-related transactions. “In addition to supporting compliance, Sabre Virtual Payments is a tremendous asset for corporate travel management companies looking to optimise their reporting capabilities. The platform enables rich data capturing, helps to better manage revenue and facilitates compliance for all parties involved in the transaction,” said Eugene Tan, General Manager, Corporate Travel Management Singapore. “We improved our booking efficiency by 30 to 40 percent while driving revenue growth,” he added. Leela to manage Gandhinagar’s convention and exhibition centre from April 1

Talking about the plans of The Leela Group of Hotels, Aejaz Shaikh, General Manager, Leisure, Leela Palaces Hotels and Resorts said, “We have nine hotels in India now, out of which six are business hotels in prominent destinations. We are looking at a huge expansion spree, from April 1, we are taking over the management of Mahatma Gandhi convention and exhibition center, that is Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.  It is the Prime ministers pet project there. Right now, we are handling only the convention centre, but in a year and a half we have a 300 + rooms hotel also coming up, which will tentatively be operational by 2019. We have another property in Jaipur that should be operational by next year. Another hotel is coming up in Bengaluru too and Agra is also on the cards.”

Grand Hyatt Kochi to open South India’s largest convention centre

Lulu Group International and Hyatt have announced a new property – Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty in Kerala – due to open by mid-March 2018. Set on 26 acres on the serene Bolgatty Island, Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty will feature 265 rooms which include 38 suites, among them 33 Junior Suites, four Executive Suites, one Presidential Suite, plus three two-bedroom villas and one three-bed room villa. The resort is owned by Lulu Group International and is adjacent to the sprawling Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre. Spread over 7,900 sq m., this is touted to be South India’s largest convention centre in a leisure destination. The mobile phone allows the guests to make free and unrestricted international telephone calls and surf 4G Internet. It also offers its guests the access to a host of resort features including restaurant menus, daily activities, and tips for sightseeing around the island of Koh Samui. The Portier smartphone is user-friendly and delivers all of its features in English, Russian, Chinese, German or French. Delhi to get an iconic convention centre by Sept 2019

An iconic convention centre is coming up at Pragati Maidan, Delhi and will be ready by September, 2019. This was informed by Jayanta Das, General Manager, Trade development Cadre, ITPO. “ The convention centre is proposed to be a state-of-the-art, iconic building. It will be ready by September, 2019, and we have already received a booking for December, 2019.” The centre, which is 120 M wide x 185 M long and 32.4 M high, is spread across approx 50,000 sq meters. The convention centre aims to become a landmark building for the convention industry of India with best global facilities and features on a par with the latest modern convention centres in the world.
