JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa, opens with 52,000 sqft MiCE space


Marriott International has announced the opening of the JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa with 200 guest rooms. Targeted at weddings, special events and business meetings, the resort has indoor and outdoor banqueting venues of over 52,000 sqft, featuring multi-functional event spaces equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual systems, including a 11,000 sqft pillar-less Ballroom. Grand Hyatt Kochi to open South India’s largest convention centre


Lulu Group International and Hyatt have announced a new property – Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty in Kerala – due to open by mid-March 2018. Set on 26 acres on the serene Bolgatty Island, Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty will feature 265 rooms which include 38 suites, among them 33 Junior Suites, four Executive Suites, one Presidential Suite, plus three two-bedroom villas and one three-bed room villa. The resort is owned by Lulu Group International and is adjacent to the sprawling Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre. Spread over 7,900 sq m., this is touted to be South India’s largest convention centre in a leisure destination. The waterfront resort will also offer meetings and event spaces for corporate meetings, get-togethers and events. Clients will have the choice to design their own catering menu. For guests who prefer to experience Kerala’s tranquil backwaters, the island has a private jetty. Banyan Tree Samui introduces Portier smartphone at check-in


Banyan Tree Samui is now offering its guests a Portier smartphone along with the room keys at check in. The mobile phone allows the guests to make free and unrestricted international telephone calls and surf 4G Internet. It also offers its guests the access to a host of resort features including restaurant menus, daily activities, and tips for sightseeing around the island of Koh Samui. The Portier smartphone is user-friendly and delivers all of its features in English, Russian, Chinese, German or French. Banyan Tree Samui strongly feels that the innovation will offer its guests a great level of security and comfort. Delhi to get an iconic convention centre by Sept 2019


An iconic convention centre is coming up at Pragati Maidan, Delhi and will be ready by September, 2019. This was informed by Jayanta Das, General Manager, Trade development Cadre, ITPO. “ The convention centre is proposed to be a state-of-the-art, iconic building. It will be ready by September, 2019, and we have already received a booking for December, 2019.” The centre, which is 120 M wide x 185 M long and 32.4 M high, is spread across approx 50,000 sq meters. The convention centre aims to become a landmark building for the convention industry of India with best global facilities and features on a par with the latest modern convention centres in the world.

Air France celebrates 50th anniversary of Paris-Mumbai route

Air France celebrates 50 years of its operations on the Paris-Mumbai route ever since it added Mumbai to its historic Far East network by launching flights from Mumbai to Paris on September 7, 1967. The airline now operates a daily service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and India’s economic capital by Boeing 777-200 equipped with the latest long-haul travel cabins.
