TCEB unveils new brand strategy for business events

Thailand Convention and Exhibitions Bureau (TCEB) has announced new brand marketing communication campaign, ‘Thailand: Redefine Your Business Events’. Through the campaign, TCEB aims to tap into the growing opportunities from the country’s economic development landscape and the expansion of Asia market, while  promoting Thailand as a hub of ASEAN MiCE. Nichapa Yoswee, Senior Vice, President, TCEB, said that Asia has been a fast-growing market for Thailand’s MiCE industry supported by remarkable growth rates of MiCE travellers from ASEAN and CLMV countries which increased 35 and 100 per cent respectively. In addition, Asia is predicted to be a primary source market for the Meeting & Incentives sector in 2019 powered by a rising trend of corporate travels in China, and the growth of travellers from India and Indonesia which are predicted at 11.3 and 8.7 per cent respectively. However, the global MiCE market is changing with influences from social and technological developments. The upcoming trends are: an increasing focus on MiCE activities that enhance active learning, and abilities to broaden fresh perspective and being adaptive; a development of online applications which assist event organisers to manage the show and enhance delegate’s engagement, and a rising numbers of shows from new sectors such as Health and Wellness, Robotic Innovations and Start-up. TCEB has defined marketing strategies for 2019 which focus on four areas: To highlight Thailand’s position as a hub of ASEAN MiCE – a connecting point that provides market access to ASEAN and CLMV countries. TCEB promotes ‘Exhibiz in Market’ campaign in India

Thailand Convention and Exhibitions Bureau (TCEB) conducted its TCEB Business Forum in Delhi at The Park Hotel on February 8, 2018. The forum aimed at strengthening exhibition ties with India. In his welcome address, Tharadol Thongruang, Minister Counselor (Commercial), Royal Thai Embassy – New Delhi, stated that they were eager to promote ties as well as business with India. He also said that Thailand is the centre and gateway to ASEAN. The ‘Exhibiz in Market’ scheme is a funding initiative conceived to generate pavilions at international tradeshows in Thailand, offering financial assistance between $1500 and $ 5,780 for leaders of commercial pavilions between 36 sqm and 250 sqm in size. Together with this scheme and The Connect Business promotion, TCEB hopes to further assist and facilitate the demands of international trade show exhibitors and visitors looking to build their business in ASEAN. Chanida Chengpee, Manager, Exhibition Department, TCEB, said, “The Connect Business matchmaking promotion is TCEB’s innovative approach to generating a higher quality of visitors to Thailand, increasing the likelihood of presenting exhibitors with enriched lead potential. It offers a chance to earn $100 for each trade visitor (in a minimum group size of 10) connected with three exhibitors by federations, trade associations, chambers of commerce, non-profit organisations, and industrial publications from the ASEAN countries and BIMSTEC.” She added that global MICE to Thailand had grown by 18.79 per cent from 2016-2017 and revenue grew by 22.77 per cent, with the number of events increasing by 15.56 per cent.
