Tamarind Global expands base of operations in Dubai

Tamarind Global has gone international by expanding its presence in Dubai, a huge source market for Indian weddings and events. The company already has a presence in Dubai for its tours vertical. It will now offer a bouquet of event and wedding services to support its domestic and international operations from the Dubai office. Weddings and events will be supported by destination selection, planning and budgeting, guest list and vendor management, hospitality, travel and logistics, décor, F&B, entertainment and fashion consultations for the bride and groom wear. Apart from this, MiCE events will also be supported. A team of two will start the base of operations at the Dubai office. Kunal Rai, Vice President – Events and Weddings, will head the Dubai vertical. He says, “With the launch of our Dubai office, Tamarind now offers its services to a global audience. We aim to lead the market by providing an all-inclusive bouquet of services to make each event unique, glamorous and memorable. flydubai launches Dubai-Kraków direct

flydubai has launched its daily service to Kraków, becoming the first UAE carrier to offer direct flights from Dubai. The inaugural flight from Terminal 2, Dubai International, landed at John Paul II Kraków Airport on April 8, and was greeted by a water cannon salute. The flight was piloted by a Polish Captain and First Officer, and on board were Polish cabin crew members. The delegation was led by Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations (UAE, Middle East, Europe & CIS), flydubai. HE Robert Rostek, the Polish Ambassador to the UAE and Thierry Aucoc, Senior Vice President, Commercial (Europe & Russian Federation) at Emirates, joined the delegation. On arrival in Kraków, the delegation was greeted by the UAE Ambassador to Poland, HE Dr. Yousif Eissa AlSabri; Radosław Włoszek, President of the Kraków Airport Board and Paweł Galiak, Aviation and Commercial Services Director at Kraków Airport. Speaking at the occasion, Efendi said, “As the first carrier to operate daily direct flights from Dubai to Kraków we are excited about the opportunities that this new route will provide for trade and tourism between the UAE and Poland. This route will be served by the newest aircraft in our fleet, the Boeing 737 MAX 8, which offers our passengers an exceptional travel experience. IndiGo introduces Tirupati to its growing network

IndiGo has expanded its regional network by adding Tirupati on its network. Honourable Minister of Civil Aviation, Ashok Gajapathi Raju along with Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo, flagged-off the second flight from Tirupati to Hyderabad at Tirupati International Airport on January 7, 2018. Tirupati will be connected by three daily non-stop flights to Hyderabad and double daily non-stop flights to Bengaluru. Apart from this, Tirupati will also be connected to many new cities on IndiGo’s existing network of Airbus 320s and ATRs. IndiGo will connect Tirupati to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Dubai, Singapore among other cities via Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mangaluru.

MOT to close 7 foreign offices, new office in Moscow on the cards

The Ministry of Tourism has decided to close its foreign offices at Los Angeles, Toronto, Sydney, Amsterdam, Paris, Milan and Johannesburg. Alphons Kannanthanam, Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism, confirmed the news saying that they will be closing a few international offices in the near future. According to an official release from the MOT, the ministry will open a new office at Moscow. Thus, the Ministry of Tourism will now have offices at New York, Dubai, Frankfurt, Moscow, Beijing, Tokyo, Singapore and London.

Emirates expands network to 29 flydubai destinations

Following the commencement of their partnership, Emirates and flydubai have announced that Emirates will expand its network to 29 flydubai destinations across three continents. Passengers can book from October 3 on Emirates.com, through the Emirates Contact Centres or the travel agents network with travel commencing from October 29, 2017. HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Group and Chairman of flydubai, says, “This is an exciting first step in unlocking the benefits of the partnership for passengers who will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique advantages each airline offers as well as greater choice and flexibility when connecting via Dubai. This is just the start and as we expand the partner network in the coming months, we will open up more opportunities for our passengers to explore the world.” When booked together as part of the codeshare, Emirates passengers will receive complimentary meals and the Emirates checked baggage allowance on flights operated by flydubai in both Business and Economy classes. Connecting in Dubai’s aviation hub offers a smooth transfer experience and under the new partnership, passengers will benefit from a reduced Minimum Connection Time (MCT) between Emirates’ home in Terminal 3 and flydubai’s in Terminal 2 of 120 minutes. Africa’s largest airline group, Ethiopian Airlines, shall resume services to Conakry on February 1, 2017. Conakry is the capital of The Republic of Guinea and a port city on the Atlantic Ocean serving as the country’s economic, financial and cultural centre. Guinea is a major producer of bauxite and has rich deposits of diamonds and gold. Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Tewolde GebreMariam said, “Charting a route that joins Africa, East to West and North to South, Ethiopian is greatly contributing to the economic, tourism, and trade development of the African continent. Conakry will be our 54th African and 96th international destination.”  With Ethiopian’s entry into the Conakry market, passengers will also be able to connect to major cities in Asia, the Middle East and East and Southern Africa via Ethiopian’s hub at Addis Ababa, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beirut, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Dubai, Mumbai, Johannesburg and Nairobi.
