IndiGo adds 3 international flights from Mumbai to Jeddah, Dammam & Abu Dhabi

Effective June 05, IndiGo will fly daily non-stop from Mumbai to both Jeddah and Abu Dhabi. Effective July 05, the airline will connect Mumbai with Dammam through daily direct flights (Subject to regulatory approvals). Additionally, IndiGo is temporarily adding approximately 20 new departures each from Mumbai and Delhi in a phased manner from April 15, 2019. This is an effort to make it easier for customers to find affordable fares during the busy season. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “We are strengthening Mumbai as a key travel hub for domestic and international connectivity from India. We are pleased to announce Jeddah and Dammam as our 17th and 18th international destinations effective June 05, 2019 and July 05, 2019 respectively. Jeddah being the commercial capital and the gateway for Haj, Dammam being the growth centre in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi being a major cultural and commercial centre in UAE, are critical markets for strengthening our presence in the Middle-East. Mumbai is the commercial hub of India and we see great potential connecting the Middle-East with this city, further bolstering the extensive cultural, business and tourism links between India and the Middle East. IndiGo will soon fly to China, Vietnam, England, Myanmar and Saudi Arabia

Launching its flight on the Delhi-Istanbul sector, IndiGo has announced to use its expanding fleet of A320neo and A321neo aircraft to connect more Indian cities to China, Vietnam, England, Myanmar, and Saudi Arabia. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo, said, “We are looking very seriously into other points in Southeast Asia, notably the obvious ones of Vietnam and Myanmar. We also want to operate shortly to Saudi Arabia on the west side. We are seriously interested in getting in China as soon as we can. We are still selecting precise destinations.” The airline plans to add 125 A321neo aircraft in its fleet over a number of years. In 2019, it will receive 20-25 of these aircraft from Airbus, said the CCO. While the Delhi-Istanbul flight is being operated in an A321neo aircraft with 222 seats, Boulter clarified that the flights to China would be based on A320neos. The Delhi-Istanbul flight plans to connect 20 forward destinations using the codeshare pact that was signed between India’s largest airline and Turkish Airlines on December 21 last year. Air India Express launches new route from Kannur to Abu Dhabi

Air India Express has launched its inaugural flight from Kannur International Airport in Kerala, India, to Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). With this, it commences three weekly flights connecting the two airports. The three weekly non-stop flights from Kannur will arrive at AUH at 11:30am and depart at 12:30pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Speaking after the inauguration, Maarten De Groof, Chief Commercial Officer, Abu Dhabi Airports, said, “We are excited to be Air India Express’ first choice for their inaugural route. India has been one of our top generators of traffic, and we are always eager to expand the airport’s connectivity to this region in response to our passengers’ needs.” The carrier provides convenient connectivity to short/medium-haul international routes in the Gulf and South East Asia at affordable fares. IndiGo adds two new flights on Tiruchirappalli-Chennai route

After the recent launch of Tiruchirappalli as its 51st destination – IndiGo, country’s largest and fastest growing low cost carrier is all set to add two more sectors connecting Tiruchirappalli. The airline will soon operate a direct flight between Tiruchirappalli and Bengaluru and Tiruchirappalli and Kochi.  IndiGo with its seventh ATR will operate four direct flights from Chennai to Tiruchirappalli from June 01.  Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer, Indigo, presented airline’s expansion plan during a travel agent meet held in Tiruchirappalli. An IndiGo organised partner meet was attended by city’s prestigious travel agents and corporates.  The new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options. The introduction of these flights will further strengthen airline’s ATR operations, and will provide enhanced connectivity between Chennai and Tiruchirappalli with all-inclusive fares starting from INR 2299. IndiGo to connect Colombo from Chennai and Bengaluru from Jan 20

IndiGo has announced that Colombo will become its eighth international destination effective January 20, 2018 with daily direct flights from Chennai and Bengaluru. With these new flights, the airline will also offer connections to and from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and other major Indian cities. Jet Airways turns festive with launch of 56 weekly flights

Jet Airways is set to introduce as many as 56 new weekly flights this month and the next, ahead of the busy festive season. In a series of industry-firsts, the airline will introduce daily flights from Pune, connecting them to Guwahati via Kolkata as well as to Coimbatore. In other notable step, Jet Airways is also set to commence flight operations between Bengaluru and Silchar, as well as to New Delhi and Jorhat. The airline will be the only airline in the country to have flights on these routes which will not only bolster connectivity from Pune, but will also improve connectivity of the North East with the rest of the country. Jet introduces Boeing 777 along with first class suites for Delhi-Singapore route

Jet Airways has introduced its First-Class services on its daily flights between Delhi and Singapore, with the deployment of its flagship Boeing 777 jetliner on this route. Jayaraj Shanmugam, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways, said, “Introduction of First Class service due to deployment of Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the Delhi-Singapore route will enable our guests to experience the Joy of Flying given a completely relaxed and an extremely comfortable flying experience.” The service, flight 9W 18, departs Delhi at 0935 hrs IST and arrives in Singapore at 1800 hrs (local time). The return leg, 9W 17 will depart Singapore at 1940 hrs (local time) and land in Delhi at 2300 hrs IST. The introduction of the Boeing 777 promises to set new benchmarks in service excellence and comfort. Guests will now have the option of travelling in up to eight sumptuously-appointed First Class suites, 30 lie-flat beds in Premiere or 308 ergonomically designed and spacious seats in Economy. The deployment of the largest aircraft in its fleet will also allow Jet Airways to offer significantly larger cargo capacity, providing more flexibility in transporting various types of consignments, including perishables, pharmaceuticals, machinery and industrial goods between Delhi and Singapore.

Jet starts 42 new weekly flights

Jet Airways will add 42 weekly flights connecting three new city pairs as part of strengthening its domestic network to meet growing demand between metros and emerging cities. Introduction of additional frequencies and wide-body deployments between key metros will also boost capacity on existing sectors this summer as the airline bolsters its already extensive network to meet an expected surge in demand during the holiday season. The carrier will commence operations between Nagpur and New Delhi, Lucknow and Kolkata, and Kozhikode and Bengaluru as part of its broader strategy of connecting India’s emerging tier II cities with India’s metros via direct flights. It will also introduce additional frequencies on the highly-travelled Delhi – Amritsar and Mumbai – Kolkata sectors and boost capacity on the New Delhi – Bengaluru and New Delhi – Bhopal routes with the introduction of the wide-body Airbus A330 and Boeing 737 services, respectively. The changes are a part of Jet Airways’ summer schedule which will see the airline operate upto 650 flights per day connecting 65 destinations in India and abroad.
