Arabian Adventures (MIE) to manage largest incentive group to UAE

Arabian Adventures, Meetings, Incentives and Events has been selected by Amway India to plan, conceptualise, and deliver the largest incentive group from the country to visit the UAE, in excess of 4000 distributors, in December of 2017. TCEB unveils ‘Thailand Connect’ campaign for 2018

Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) unveiled the marketing communication campaign for the year 2018 entitled ‘THAILAND CONNECT Your Vibrant Journey to Business Success, decoded with chapters of possibilities’. The campaign is aimed at further enhancing a position of Thailand as leading bleisure destination in the region. The bureau expects that, by the end of next year, the country will welcome 1,192,000 international MICE visitors which generate revenue of 112 billion baht. Supawan Teerarat, Vice President of TCEB’s Strategic and Business Development, said, “TCEB has been introducing key fundamental pillars of MICE industry which include a diversity of destination, business opportunities, and people of Thailand. ‘Single window for meetings & conferences’

The government shall soon roll out a National Tourism Policy, which is expected to provide single window clearance for organisation of meetings and conferences, informed Satyajeet Rajan, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, while addressing the second edition of Global MICE Travel Mart, organised by FICCI jointly with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, on September 14, 2017, at The Lailt, New Delhi. He said that there was a need to provide incentives to this sector to make it competitive in the world market. He added that there was a pressing need to conduct a study to assess size of the industry and a consultant was being appointed to suggest a workable roadmap for the development of the sector. During the inaugural of this  global mart, which is underway until Sept 16, a FICCI-MRSS Knowledge Paper on ‘MICE Tourism Powerhouse of a New Era Tourism’ was unveiled by the dignitaries. The six-point agenda of the study suggested a six-point roadmap for development of India as a MICE tourism hotspot: Promote concept of exclusive MICE tourism to target markets Maintain co-ordination and align with the Central Agency Developing Time bound action plan Imbibe Skill Development Create experiences for the visitors  Chander Mansharamani, Vice Chairman, ICPB and Managing Director, Alpcord Network Travel & Conferences Management Company, said that MICE was an economic activity and there was an imperative need for the creation of a market for the sector. Delhi to host Global MICE Travel Mart

The second edition of the Global MICE Travel Mart (GMTM), the only branded MICE Inbound Tourism platform in India will be held in Delhi from September 14-16, 2017, at The Lalit, New Delhi. The Ministry of Tourism and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) are organising the event, which will aim to intensively focus on MICE inbound Tourism and Buyer – Seller Meet over two days. The meet shall reap significant transacting and capitalising of business opportunities between international buyers, opinion leaders from main line associations who organise mega conferences in India and sellers of MICE tourism products in India. The mart will be instrumental in putting MICE destinations in India on the itineraries of the foreign tour operators.

EEMA celebrated its 10th Conclave in Delhi

Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) celebrated its 10th edition conclave from September 8-10,  in Hotel Pullman, Aerocity, New Delhi. Themed ‘a decade of transformation’, it was a part of the EEMAX Global Conclave and Awards organised by EEMA. Sabbas Joseph, President, EEMA, elucidated on the event and said, “It was an event that got everyone together. Sharing the journey with nostalgia were the three presidents of EEMA. We had around 283 registered members and an attendance of about 350 people.” Adding on about growing number of talent in the country, he said, “We have a programme for youth empowerment and education and talent development, the first launch of it was on September 8, at the EEMA Eduposium. We are now looking at management programmes, how can we embellish that with content from the event management companies and create event management as an option. Asia-Pacific sees growth in the meetings and events space: CWT

A report on future trends in the meetings and events space by the CWT Meetings & Events (CWT M&E), a division of global travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel, revealed that the overall cost per attendee per day for meetings and events around the globe increased in 2017 and is expected to continue rising next year. Titled as 2018 Meetings and Events Future Trend, the report also looks into regional differences and cost projections, as well as the latest industry trends and top destinations. According to the report, the cost per attendee per day for meetings and events in Asia Pacific has increased by 5 per cent in 2017, the greatest for any region globally. It stated that the prices are not changing much in Asia Pacific, for either hotels or air fares, with a surge of 3.5 per cent and 2.8 per cent respectively. The conference saw a conglomeration of 350 prominent MICE industry leaders, PCO’s, Suppliers, Conference Planners, Buyers and Government officials from the Ministry to discuss the potential of MICE industry in India and way forward. The theme of the conclave was “Expanding The Boundaries – Mission Possible” with a focus on all segments of MICE Industry – incentive, exhibition and corporate meetings, creating an opportunity for the members to look for new avenues of business development. ICPB’s 10th Conventions India Conclave (CIC) to be held in Hyderabad from August 29-31 at HICC, expects 200-300 delegates during the two-day event. The long-awaited annual convention is aiming to project the Indian subcontinent as the preferred destination for international and domestic conventions. The theme for this year is ‘Expanding the Boundaries – Mission Possible’. CIC will focus on all segments of the MICE industry, creating an opportunity for its members to look for new avenues of business development.
