International MICE & Wedding Forum to begin from May 28-June 1 in Antalya, Turkey

The third edition of the International MICE & Wedding Forum (IMWF) is set to kick off from May 28 – June 1 in Antalya, Turkey, at the Titanic Deluxe Golf Belek Hotel. The biggest players in the fields of MICE and Wedding planners will meet with over 450 agencies from 70 different countries, as well as with industry suppliers and managers from over 150 hotels and airlines. Sabbas Joseph, Director of Wizcraft International Entertainment, will be honorary guest and keynote speaker at the IMFW. Participations from countries like India, United States, Russia, England, Italy, France, Netherlands, Lebanon, Nigeria and China, and more are expected.  Necip Fuat Ersoy, International MICE &Wedding Forum (IMWF) Managing Partner, said: “The main players in tourism, who are driving the world tourism sector, and senior executives of very important companies will have an unforgettable four day experience in Antalya. Delegates from 80 countries attend Africa’s Travel Indaba at Durban ICC

More than 6000 representatives from 80 countries around the world converged at Durban’s ICC to attend the biggest travel trade show in Africa, Travel Indaba, which is underway until May 10, 2018. “It’s fair to say that good business concluded at this show can translate into measurable economic growth for the entire continent,” says Sisa Ntshona, CEO, South African Tourism. According to the organisers, the online meetings confirmed for the show between buyers and exhibitors had already exceeded the 2017 numbers two weeks before the opening. The 10th edition of the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB), which emerged as one of the most important travel marts for inbound tourism, will be held in Jaipur from April 22 to 24, 2018. While the inaugural session will be held at Hotel Lalit on April 22, the pre-structured meetings and exhibition will be held on April 23 and 24 at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC) in Sitapura, informed Dr Subodh Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Art & Culture, Government of Rajasthan. Dr Agarwal said, while Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will grace the inaugural session as Chief Guest, Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons will inaugurate the exhibition on April 23. Rajasthan Tourism announces domestic travel mart from July 20-22 in Jaipur

The Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan has signed an MoU with the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) for organising the ‘Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart’ 2018. The event will be held from July 20-22 at the B.M. Birla Auditorium in Jaipur. The Department of Tourism will be the host state partner for the event. The MoU was signed between the Additional Director Tourism, Sanjay Pande and the President, FHTR, Bhim Singh in Jaipur. The Chief Guest on the occasion Chief Secretary, Rajasthan, Nihal Chand Goel said that the primary objective of ‘Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart’ is to exclusively focus on the domestic tourists within Rajasthan from various parts of India. “The vision 2020 initiated by the CM had an objective of five crore tourist footfall in the state by the year 2020. But we have attained close to five crore tourists in the year 2017 itself and with new initiatives like this travel Mart, we’d be able to achieve the set goal and probably outperform our own predicted numbers,” he said. The President, FHTR, Bhim Singh said the sole objective is to increase tourism is Rajasthan by organising numerous roadshows across the country. The event is also supported by HRAR, IHHA, RATO and ADTOI.

Marriott group recently held MCUBE – (Marriott Meetings Matter), an initiative taken by the Marriott India Leadership team, at JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa, from April 13-15, 2018. The event brought  together the largest corporate and professional conference organisers under one roof. Sanjay Sharma, Market Vice President for North India, Nepal and Bhutan, Marriott International, shared some insights on the viability of MiCE in India and why bringing events to cities help elevate local economy as well. “ MCUBE has been historical every year and Marriott has been doing this for a number of years.
