Andaz Delhi Aerocity opens with 37,500 sqft of meeting spaces


Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Andaz Delhi, marking the Andaz brand’s first hotel in India and 16th worldwide. Andaz Delhi opens with a partial inventory of its residential-style 401 guestrooms, including 45 suites. The hotel will also offer 129 serviced apartments, expected to open next year. Represented in world-class cities like London, New York, Tokyo and Shanghai, Hyatt’s luxury lifestyle brand celebrates local culture and the unique spirit of neighborhoods, and is now set to make its mark in India’s vibrant capital with the opening of Andaz Delhi in Aerocity. Second Hyatt Place opens in London


Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport has opened, marking the second Hyatt Place hotel in London and the fifth Hyatt branded hotel in the United Kingdom. The hotel is managed by Cycas Hospitality under a franchise agreement with M+L Hospitality. The 358-room hotel joins four Hyatt Place hotels in Europe, including Hyatt Place Jermuk and Hyatt Place Yerevan in Aremnia; Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport in The Netherlands; and Hyatt Place London Heathrow/Hayes in the U.K. The Hyatt Place brand is rooted in extensive consumer insights indicating that guests seek stylish, comfortable, seamless experiences that accommodate their lifestyles and familiar routines. Meliá Hotels to debut in Bangkok

Kolkata, Chennai emerging as optimum cities for MICE facilities


Kolkata and Chennai have emerged as one of the few cities which offer suitable MICE offerings at a reasonable rate. Kolkata’s super-luxury hospitality space will add over 500 rooms in the super-deluxe category in the next three months. Currently , Oberoi Grand, Taj Bengal, ITC Sonar and Hyatt -together offer 917 rooms. The count will go up to 1,231, a 134 per cent jump over the current strength in the next 18 months. Ranju Alex, GM of JW Marriott Kolkata, said, “Kolkata, with its unique character and soul, is a significant addition to the MICE map globally.” Shift of MICE from Mumbai and Hyderabad to Chennai, owing to cheaper room rates, has spurred growth for the city.
