Pride Group of Hotels launches Pride Hotel and Convention Centre in Indore

Pride Hotels have entered into a tie up with the HRJ International for the management of the Pride Hotel & Convention Centre Indore. Pride Hotel and Convention Centre, Indore was inaugurated in auspicious presence of Shri Uttam Swami Ji Maharaj, S. P. IHCL announces its first Taj in Saudi Arabia

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced its foray into the Holy City of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with a partnership with Umm Al Qura Development and Construction Company in the prestigious King Abdul Aziz Road (KAAR) project, one of the largest urban rejuvenation projects in the city of Makkah. Commenting on the signing of this agreement, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said, “We are honoured to partner with Umm Al Qura Development and Construction Company in bringing the first Taj hotel to Saudi Arabia. This signing is aligned to our strategy of a strong focus on global growth markets and to be present where our guests travel to. We are committed to expanding our presence in the MENA region.” This hotel will be IHCL’s fourth venture in the MENA region. The company manages Taj Dubai located in the Burj Khalifa downtown area. It will also open another two hotels in Dubai in the next twelve to eighteen months. The proposed hotel is situated within walking distance of the Grand Mosque (Masjid Al-Haram), the main attraction for over 6 million pilgrims who visit the city each year. It will also be in close proximity to commercial offices, retail stores and restaurants within KAAR project. The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts will now operate and manage the Mahatma Mandir, the country’s largest convention and exhibition centre, after winning the competitive bid and management contract. The 34-acre Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre is a world-class facility for national and international conferences, exhibitions and events. Designed to reflect the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, this environmentally responsible complex can host about 15,000 people. It includes a convention hall which boasts of a seating capacity of 6,000 people. The hotel chain will also launch The Leela Gandhinagar, a 300-room property which is expected to be the largest property in Gujarat’s capital city, informed Vivek Nair, Chairman and Managing Director, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts. Commenting on the development, Nair said, “The addition of Mahatma Mandir and The Leela Gandhinagar to our MiCE portfolio reinforces our plan to expand further into the international conferences and events space, and underscores our asset-light growth strategy. Together with the support of the Government of Gujarat, our endeavour is to help transform Gandhinagar into the convention capital of India.” The agreement, effective April 1, 2018, has been signed with Gandhinagar Railway and Urban Development Corporation (GARUD) – a Special Purpose Vehicle formed by the Government of Gujarat with the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC).

Radisson Hotel Group aims for 200 hotels in South Asia by 2022

The newly rebranded Radisson Hotel Group announced its expansion plans at Hotel Investment Conference South Asia (HICSA) 2018. The company aims to expand its portfolio to more than 200 hotels in operation and under development by 2022 in South Asia. The group has already signed Radisson Blu Resort Visakhapatnam, Radisson Panipat City Centre and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Agra in the first quarter of 2018. Radisson Gwalior opened last month and the group is on track to open another eight more hotels in India this year. “This is the most exciting period in our company’s long history,” said Katerina Giannouka, President, Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group. “With the rebranding of our company, we are positioning Radisson Hotel Group for a bright future.
