Lemon Tree Hotels will now focus to facilitate MICE service in its properties following  the  booming trend for the sector. Vikramjit Singh, President and Chief Revenue Officer, Lemon Tree Hotels, says, “So far Lemon Tree hotels didn’t focus much on MICE or banqueting facility. But going forward we realise that it’s a big segment which is coming into play. We will be setting up largest convention centre hotel in Gurgaon which will be opened by the end of this year. That will have large banqueting facilities. In Mumbai we are building two hotels close to 1,000 rooms which will also have very large banqueting facilities.”

Jannah Hotels expand to Ras Al Khaimah

Abu Dhabi-based Jannah Hotels and Resorts will expand to Ras Al Khaimah to tap the undersupplied market in the emirate. The hotel operator and developer expects to manage 100 hotel apartments and 24 villas of three to five bedrooms called the Jannah Resort and Villas in December this year. “Ras Al Khaimah is close to Dubai and has an airport. For an investor, now is the perfect time to penetrate the market.” said Nehme Darwiche, Chief Executive of Jannah Hotels and Resorts.

The new extension has S$82 million invested by OUE Airport Hotel Pte Ltd (OUEAH). The hotel is looking to market itself towards multinationals in Singapore. “For Crowne Plaza Singapore Changi Airport, it is also the hotel’s strategic location at Terminal 3 and seamless connectivity to Changi Airport that make it the best choice for transiting passengers and business travellers, especially those visiting the nearby business parks and MICE venue,” said Sunshine Wong, General Manager, Crowne Plaza Singapore Changi Airport.
