600 Indian delegates to conglomerate for TAAI

The Travel Agents Association of India’s (TAAI) 63rd convention in Abu Dhabi from October 14-16, 2016 is likely to get about 600-700 delegates from across India. Jay Bhatia, National Treasurer and Chairman (Tourism Council), TAAI, while adding said, “We are also expecting our overseas members to participate that include DMCs and operators from the UAE and the Middle East region. ” He informed that Abu Dabi was chosen for the convention because of its proximity to India and good connections from most major cities of India.

NRAI convention from Sept 25-26 in Mumbai

The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) announced the first edition of its convention at St. Regis in Mumbai from September 25-26, 2016. Riyaaz Amlani, President, NRAI, said, “The two-day business convention will have multiple business sessions with speakers from the sector from across India. This will include three international speakers as well.” Attendees at the event will include individuals from the bar and the nightlife industry from across India encompassing business and informational workshops.

The new Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) will open on September 26. “Work is nearing completion for Madinat Al Irfan’s first phase features,” officials from Omran, the Sultanate’s leading master developer, said. OCEC will elevate Oman to become a suitable venue for regional and international events, developing Oman’s MICE sector and business tourism offerings, while attracting local and foreign investors and partners. Federation of All India Caterers (FAIC) held its second Convention and Exhibition at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The three-day event saw attendance from over 20,000 visitors comprising of caterers, banquet owners, hoteliers, F&B professionals and fast food vendors. “FAIC Exhibition & Convention 2016 held this year with enhanced grandeur provides a perfect platform for manufacturers and traders from across the country to converge under one roof,” says Narendra Somani, President, Federation of All India Caterers. IATO 32nd convention in Chennai from Sept 18-21

The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) will hold its 32nd annual convention from September 18-21, 2016, at ITC Grand Chola in Chennai. Pronab Sarkar, President, IATO, said, “We were planning to have our convention in Chennai for last couple of years as IATO never had its annual convention in Tamil Nadu earlier. However, this year, it is going to become a dream come true.” More than 1200 delegates are expected for the three-day event and the IATO convention.
